Since a high court ruling allowed Gurkha soldiers to retire to the UK, a sizeable migration of elderly Nepalese has taken place. Ex Gurkas and their families have settled in Britain, particularly where I live in Plumstead SE18 which is home to the largest Nepalese population in the UK with its proximity to the Woolwich army barracks.
